football, National League North
Scunthorpe United new holders of the National League North attendance record. With a large following of Chester fans helping push the new record to 7511. This even supersedes the NLN Play Off final attendance record too. Yes it was community day. Could we have asked for a better of game of football. Both teams at it especially in the 2nd half. Chester 1 up at H/T. A nice finish by Tollitt after Scunthorpe had dominated the opening 10/15 mins or so. 2nd Half, more goals, yellow cards (lots), red card, pitch invasions and a new NLN attendance record. I even got emotional at that, thinking of where we were. To break that record with other 6300 Scunthorpe fans alone, was just phenomenal. Credit to everyone at the club for making it happen. Also for the chance for us to have a club for us to support. The match ended 2-2. On reflection a fair result, though those chances at the end. Just have to imagine the scenes if one of those had gone in….. Yes it’s a long one. Though not every day you get Lee Turnbull in the marquee joining in the chants haha. Lots of people wanting to get involved, so thank you to all. Next up Darlington away, see you Tuesday. #UTI
