Not a game of two halves, but a game of two Chloe's, as United bowed out of the FA cup (again) at the first round. Liverpool's Chloe Fisher, playing as No.2, scored the first of her double on the 7th minute, with a powerful header from a corner. She followed that up a quarter way through the match, flicking a cross onto the top of the hand of FC's Chloe, but with enough direction to sneek into the far corner for a two-goal lead. The Red Chloe was busy through most of the game, making a half dozen outstanding saves from various angles and ranges. And without Chloe Ainsworth's efforts the cup tie would have quickly gotten well away from United. The majority of the 121 in attendance had to wait until injury time to raise the roof and their hopes, when a deft flick from Jade Parker sent Kirsty Chambers racing goalwards. The under-pressure Feds keeper miss-hit her clearance and pouncing on the loose ball captain Chambers eyed up the nets, and lofting her effort over a pair of defenders for a peach of a goal, gave the FC faithful a glimmer of a fightback. But it wasn't to be as time ran out, and the Feds deservedly go onto the second round.
