Yet another hard match and you can see that the new players are gelling into the squad, yet it was superstar Jess Battle that was at the centre of FCs threat. The first half was a tame affair with neither side making many chances, noted only for Chloe Ainsworth superbly saving twice from decent efforts by the Feds. It took 20 minutes of the second half for the game to liven up as Liverpool took the lead through a super strike from near 30 yards, high into the corner. But within 12 minutes the Reds would have the lead as Battle was brought down in the box with captain Kirsty Chambers converting an excellent spot-kick, and 143 seconds later Battle twisted and turned away from the defenders and slammed home the second. Towards the end the Feds earned their own penalty, but that might have been harsh on FCs stopper, but the kick was easily dispatched for a final score of 2-2, which is a good display against higher-placed opposition.
