The first match of the 2023/24 National League 2 West season saw Hornets entertain Loughborough Students in front of a large and enthusiastic crowd at the Nest. A high scoring match produced 79 points, 12 tries, 8 conversions, one penalty kick and one yellow card, all captured here on this highlights video. One point of note, this is the first match under the new tackle height laws whereby all tackles have to be below the base of the sternum, something that will take a bit of adjustment from the players. Please note that I have no connection to Hornets RFC although they make me welcome, for which I am grateful. I am a fan local rugby and film these matches for my own enjoyment but am happy to share with others to enjoy.
