A second half strike from Jarred Lake earned Port Talbot an important three points at South Gower in a closely fought contest. The first half saw few clear chances but Blues goalkeeper Jake Stephens needed to be at his best to turn a strike around the post shortly after the interval. The crucial moment for Port Talbot came after 63 minutes when Lake calmly lobbed the ball over the onrushing South Gower goalkeeper from just inside the penalty area to give his side the lead. Chances came and went for the visitors to sew the game up with Dion Carroll making a brilliant double save to deny first Ben Whiteman and then Ernest Amoo. South Gower nearly snatched an equaliser at the death when Ben Whiteman almost inadvertently turned a cross into his own net but was able to scamper back and clear off the line. An injury time free kick also saw a back post header go narrowly wide just before the referee blew for time.
