Description: The second day of the final home game of the season at The Kia Oval sees Surrey take on Northamptonshire, knowing a win will take them to within touching distance of retaining the LV= County Championship title. After a competitive first day, three late wickets from Surrey left the away side on 171/6 at close – and Surrey will be hoping to wrap up the first innings this morning before setting off on a quest for maximum batting points. The Surrey is captained by Rory Burns and features players including Dom Sibley, Jamie Overton, Kemar Roach and young Indian batter Sai Sudharsan. Action will get underway at 10.30am each morning with commentary from a team including Daniel Norcross (BBC TMS), Adam Collins (Final Word podcast, Sky Sports, BBC, SEN Radio), Phil Walker (Wisden Cricket Podcast), Yas Rana (Wisden Cricket Podcast) and Cameron Ponsonby (Guardian, Cricinfo). At lunchtime, Jon Surtees will be joined by writer, broadcaster and European football expert Andy Brassell to discuss his new book We Play On: Shakhtar Donetsk’s Fight for Ukraine, Football and Freedom and during the morning session the commentary will be joined by some special guests from Battersea Dogs and Cats Home, who are running a ‘Wear Blue for Rescue’ campaign this September.
