A tremendous all round performance gave Port Talbot an important 2-0 victory over Treharris Athletic Western at Victoria Road that took them to the brink of safety. In a dominant first half, the Steelmen looked dangerous from the off and took the lead when Kirk McNally prodded home from close range after excellent work by Rhys Dix. The second goal came shortly after as Charlie Farrell beat the off side trap to slot home confidently past goalkeeper Matthews. The second half saw Lee Healey sent off for two yellow cards in the space of a few seconds following a melee between players. The home side then missed the chance of a third goal when Pike saved superbly low to his right to deny Dix from the penalty spot. However it mattered little and in the closing stages, Treharris received two red cards, the first a second yellow card to Marinho Manga who was departing the field after being substituted and then Dylan Amin also for a second yellow after the final whistle. Port Talbot climb from seventh to sixth in the table on 28 points from 21 games swapping places with Treharris.
