A late double from Ben Quinn gave the Celtic B side a dramatic 2-1 home win over Bo’ness United after the visitors had taken the lead with 15 minutes of the match remaining. Celtic started the game well, although Tobi Oluwayemi was called upon to make an early save, the Hoops goalkeeper dealing comfortably with a Bo’ness effort. Tsoanelo Letsosa came close to giving Celtic the lead but his close-range effort was saved before Matthew Anderson’s shot was just over the bar. With half an hour gone, the Hoops were controlling possession and Mackenzie Carse fired a 22-yard effort narrowly wide. On 36 minutes, there was another chance for the home side when Ben Quinn cut the ball back from the right wing, but Corey Thomson couldn’t convert. And just before half-time, Letsosa had a shot from outside the box but his effort also went wide. Celtic started the second-half strongly, but Bo’ness United had a good chance on 54 minutes when Alassan Jones hit the bar with a shot. The Hoops responded, and on the hour mark, Thomson surged through the middle before releasing the ball for Joey Dawson, but goalkeeper, Musa Digaba raced out to deny the Celtic striker. And on 74 minutes, Bo’ness United grabbed an unexpected lead when Jones fired home, However, that lead lasted just four minutes before Ben Quinn netted an equaliser, and as the Celtic B team continued to push forward, in the 84th minute Quinn dribbled around the Bo’ness defence before firing home from close-range to make it 2-1 to the Hoops. And the young Celts saw out the game to take all three points in this Scottish Lowland League clash.
