WOODBRIDGE TOWN 1 WOODFORD TOWN 1 (Woodford Town won 5-4 on Penalties) (HT 0-0) Woodbridge Town exited the FA Vase on penalties after the cup tie finished 1-1 after 90 minutes, Rhys Barber heading the Woodpeckers ahead with the away side equalising with a penalty and two well matched sides. Patrick Clarke's effort went over the bar after 2 minutes for the visitors and for the hosts after 10 minutes Ryan Keeble's accurate corner was headed goalwards by Barber but it was cleared off the line by the away defence. Chaynie Burgin's shot was deflected for a corner after 15 minutes and after 22 minutes Ramiah Mills' effort was well held at the near post by home keeper Michael Batt. Bailey Brown's shot was well blocked by Aaron Churchyard for a corner after 24 minutes and Clarke's corner was headed onto the bar by Esat Saiti. Scott McCarthy's shot after 31 minutes was cleared off the goalline by Luke Steele and after 38 minutes Taylor Southgate's effort missed the target but goalless at the break. McCarthy tested away keeper Ramus Kriisa after 48 minutes but after 56 minutes Keeble's corner was headed in by Barber despite some desperate away defence. The away side equalised after 67 minutes when after a push inside the area, the Referee pointed to the spot and Burgin stepped up to make it 1-1. Clarke's corner was headed wide by Brown after 70 minutes and after one of the away Joint Managers was awarded a Red Card and a Sin Bin to an away defender after 83 minutes, the away side held out for a draw. A penalty shootout followed with Jack Newman, Luke Mallett, Mark Ray and Andy Crowe successful but the Woodpeckers beaten 5-4 on Penalties.
