football, The FA Women's Super League
Fara Williams scored in her final home game for Reading as they beat Brighton in the Women's Super League. After a humdrum start the game exploded into life with four goals in nine minutes before half-time. Williams sent Brighton keeper Megan Walsh the wrong way from the spot after a clumsy challenge on Emma Harries. Danielle Carter doubled the Royals' lead and Lee Geum-min scored twice in two minutes, before Natasha Harding's neat finish sealed victory. Following her decision to retire at the end of the season, Williams stepped out at Madejski Stadium for the final time to a guard of honour from both teams in Reading's penultimate WSL game. The Royals came into the match looking for their first win since February's victory at Manchester United, and England's record appearance holder Williams, 37, got them off to the perfect start, coolly dinking her penalty past Walsh. Carter then slid in from close range following good work by Harding on the right to double Reading's lead, but Lee's quickfire double pegged them back. #Women'sSuperLeague
