Knockbreda F.C. play in the second tier of football in Northern Ireland, The NI Football League Championship. Their 2020/2021 league season has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. They now have an opportunity to play in this season's Irish Cup after being afforded Elite status by The Irish Football Association but only for the period of time they remain in the competition. Knockbreda F.C. have been drawn against Newington F.C. They have been granted a return to training by the IFA but the players and staff must all pass weekly Covid tests. This is a story about a team who must win their cup match in order to keep training and playing during a global pandemic. Knockbreda Football Club is situated in the Castlereagh region of Belfast.
