Debuts for Andy Crowe and Kyron Andrews and the welcome return of Jack Newman with away keeper Taylor Haddlow also making his debut and making some important saves. Goals for Mark Ray and Taylor Southgate with Biggleswade equalising in the last minute of normal time and winning the penalty shoot out. Dave Parkinson's effort went wide of the post in the first minute and Crowe's header was on target for the hosts after 3 minutes. The Woodpeckers took the lead after a foul on Liam Scopes inside the penalty area, Ray stepped up with the spot kick to send Haddlow the wrong way and it was 1-0 after 18 minutes. The visitors equalised after 27 minutes when danger man Parkinson was upended inside the area and he duly made no mistake with the spot kick to make it 1-1. Tom Haste's free kick after 40 minutes just failed to find an attacker but all square at the break. Haste's excellent shot was well saved by Haddow after 46 minutes and after 53 minutes away Substitute Codi Spavans' effort went wide of the post for the visitors. Ray's shot was deflected for a corner after 55 minutes and a suspicion of handball and Newman's free kick on the hour going over the bar. Substitute Charisma Agyemang shot missed the target after a quick break after 68 minutes and Haddlow denied Ray's curling shot with a superb save after 76 minutes. Haddlow yet again denied Ray with a good stop for a corner after 82 minutes but the Woodpeckers took the lead after 84 minutes when Substitute George Bowman's accurate ring wing corner was headed in by Southgate and it was 2-1. A minute later Spavans' shot was well held by home keeper Ben Maidens but in the last minute Agyemang slotted home superbly and it was 2-2. The away side duly won the shoot out by 7-6 with Ray, Scopes, Mallett, Bowman, Stronge and Newman successful but the unfortunate Crowe's penalty kick was well saved by Haddlow.
