The Blues suffered a home defeat against title chasing Cork City at a packed RSC. Noel Hunt opened for the scoring shortly after 30 minutes but Gary Buckley replied within 60 seconds for City to restore parity and the sides went in at the interval all square. Graham Cummins was fastest to react following Matt Connor's save from a long distance Buckley effort 8 minutes after the break to put the away side into the lead. The Blues pushed forward in search of an equalising goal but the visitors' defence held firm and it was Cork City who secured the points when the referee sounded his full time whistle. Next up for the Blues is a trip to Dublin to take on Skerries Town FC in the FAI Cup on the 11th of August at 3pm.
